We decided to visit Singapore on a visa run (Another 30 days when we return to Thailand) and loved it. Day 1 - Jo decided she wanted to talk to the animals a la Dr Dolittle so off to the Zoo we went. It was excellently laid out and we spent 6 hours going from one habitat to another, thank god the camera ran out of batteries half way through or we would have a whole album just for Jo's animal photos, we also booked to see the Night Safari the following day. Day 2 ...

Kanchanaburi fomous for "The Bridge over the River Kwai", we decided to get the train from Bangkok which was a pleasant 3 hour trip, except for the seating (a wooden bench) which gave you a sore a**e after about 10 mins. We went to the Railway Museum first so we could get the low down on the railway and bridge, then we visited the war cemetary and finally to the JEATH war museum. Day 2 saw us on a day trip to the local waterfall and hot springs (very refreshing) ...

"One night in Bangkok and the tough guys tumble" Murray Head once said, we lasted 3 and we're still standing. We booked into our hotel on the famous Khao San Road right above McDonalds - Bonus. First stop Wat Phra Kaew & The Grand Palace, very beautiful, very busy especially to see the Emerald Buddha. Jo showed her lack of culture by insisting that we visit the Forensic Science Museum - she'd been watching too many episodes of CSI. Well I have never seen seen so ...

We have been in Chaing Mai for a week, we didn't intend on staying so long but had a couple of set backs including a unscheduled Beer Chang hangover (it's 6.4%!) and a bout of "Bangkok Belly" each.....and we are not even there yet! That said, we managed to have some fun, we did a Thai cooking course and made Tom Yam soup (nearly burnt my face off) and some delicious Thai Green curry. Had a lot of laughs and I must stress what we ate was not the cause of our ups...

About 6 hours North of Vang Vieng on a VERY twisty mountain road and some fantastic scenery we arrived in the very beautiful Luang Prabang.
