We arrived here last night after the JOURNEY FROM HELL. a five hour bus ride on a clapped out old banger that broke down after 2 hours in the middle of nowhere (I mean it we were lucky to be on tarmac) . The driver disappeared for 4 hours, we had no idea where, and returned to fix the bus which took another 3 hours. We flew to Nha Trang yesterday for 20 quid, it is cooler here but quite busy and we had nowhere to stay when we arrived. We arrived on an overnight sleeper train from Hanoi at 11am, it took 12 hours!! it wasn't too bad, as we shared a cabin (with 6 beds) with a Vietnamese family travelling to Saigon. Its a good way to get to know the locals! They had a 9 month old boy and a 3 year old girl...both very cute. Far better than a bunkhouse in the lakes.....
