We saw movie scenes being filmed on the street, a real life police chase and arrest, a man dressed as an alien and a dog wearing boots all within 2 minutes of arriving on Hollywood Boulevard. Our hostel was just beyond the famous "walk of fame", and was full of out of work actors and Japanese students, which made for some bizzare conversations. I just HAD to drag Stephen on the tour of the stars homes in Beverley Hills and Bel Air, it was fun! P. Diddys house was the coolest by far! We went to the Museum which had costumes from movies and Hannibal Lectors mask and cell. Then we did a terrible thing......we went to Universal Studios on a weekend during Spring Break....Very busy, we got stuck on "the Mummy" ride when it had a malfunction, it took about 30 seconds for all the fat Americans to start complaining about claustrophobia and what compensation they would get.
On Paddys Day, we woke to the sound of a parade, I was looking forward to Guinness and some Irish jigging, and was very disappointed that it actually turned out to be a huge anti war protest! There where THOUSANDS of people! We had booked to go on a walking tour right in the middle of it! But we still saw the Chinese Theatre and the Kodak Theatre where they hold the Oscars. It was a bit scary, lots of armed police around. And no celebs!
Peter, I am sure you told me James was living here, I looked out for him but never saw him!
