A small town, we had the whole 31 bed hotel to ourselves. Not much going on here, we spent the night in the local bar watching the Canucks (ice hockey) again with the locals. We were just hanging around waiting for the ferry, which left at 6.30pm on Sunday to sail the Inside Passage to Prince Rupert.  Now let me tell you a bit about BC Ferries...we were getting on a new ship, The Northern Adventurer, which replaced the last one that sank on this very route because they forgot to change course and steered it straight into an island. At full speed. Allegedly, and the trial is on at the moment, the two lookouts were "distracted". The captain was in his cabin with one of the female crew. Draw your own conclusions.
It set sail 2 hours late, but we watched the sun go down on deck, and retired to our cabin. When we woke, we were in the most scenic part of the voyage, in a narrow passage close to the Alaska border. It was truly beautiful, although the mist closed in at the end of the journey. After 18 hours, we arrived safe and sound in Prince Rupert.
