Hello people! Left Thailand yesterday morning for a long day of travelling. We left at 7 in the morning and arrived at 7 in the evening (Malaysia is an hour ahead). Half way through the journey, 5 of us had to go into a shared minibus with the worst driver in the world. He didnt know how to drive. He could never find 3rd gear! Everytime he tried he would scrape the gears so loudly, which kept waking Steph up lol! We also had a near death experience with him lol. During a tropical storm (which was cool) the driver decided that he would drive even faster than normal and tried to go past a lorry, which was in the process of going through a massive puddle, and the spray landed on our windscreen and blinded the driver, who thought it would be a good idea to slam the brakes on and skid slightly, when all he had to do was carry on driving normally because nothing was infront of him! One good thing was the radio. The 5 of us really got into Mix FM which was in English. We all started singing along to Spice Girls, Wannabe and many other classics like this lol. We arrived in Penang ages after the other people from our group. We went for tea at an Indian which was ok but the service was appalling. In Asia they dont serve all the meals together, they serve it when its cooked. so some people got their's straight away and others (like me and Steph) got it 15 mins before we had to leave. A few of us had to get parts of it to take away lol. We jumped into a taxi and went to the Chinese temple which is only lit up once a year for the Chinese New Year. It was stunning and we took some good pics which will follow soon. 3 of us was late back to the taxi and the group leader was in a mardy oops lol. After all this we went to a 7/11 and got a ice lolly each (very nice) and then retired to bed. Today we are going to a homestay on an island so we might not have the internet for a few days!
