Days 12-14
Well we absolutely loved Byron Bay! It was full of quaint little bars and restaurants which sat out onto the pavements at night with singers, guitarists, and loads of fairy lights! So cute!
We had our surf lesson which was a laugh until I got took out by a huge wave and the surf board (which was massive) flew into the air because I couldn't keep hold of it and smacked me straight on the head. The coach come over to check if I was ok as jake and everyone else was to busy hysterically laughing and said 'you handled that really well' I was so embarrassed and fuming that I got out and sat on the beach for the rest of the lesson because my eyes were stinging from constantly drowning watching jake who was annoyingly good at it as usual!
On Wednesday we were supposed to have our skydive so after getting up at 6:30am and being driven all the way there we were told that the clouds were too low and it was cancelled! Luckily we were able to rearrange to do it in Melbourne later on in the month as we were leaving Byron bay the following day so couldn't reschedule it for any sooner! We then spent the afternoon hiking up to Byron Bay lighthouse which was amazing as we saw real life whales swim past!!!!! Honestly felt like I was in an episode of planet earth and made jake stand there for over an hour watching them! this deffo made up for a s***ty morning!
We are now in a place called surfers paradise as we head further up north and it's gorgeous! It's abit more built up that Byron bay but The weather has been boiling and we have spent most of our time chilling on the beach through the day and mooching round all the cute night markets in the evening! Our hostel has been much nicer than the previous one as it's like a 2 bedroom apartment so we have our own toilet and bedroom and only sharing the kitchen / lounge with one other room! We had a lovely German couple on the first night who were lovely! Unfortunately they left this morning... but they left 4 alcopops in the fridge and 2 packs of chocolate biscuits which we quickly labelled and moved to our side of the fridge - we will be enjoying them tonight! Happy days! Haha! The wifi has been rubbish at this place though so hardly been able to contact anyone which made me feel abit home sick but hopefully our next hostel has better wifi! We are currently sat in an Irish bar having drinks just so I can connect to their wifi to write this!
We head to Noosa tomorrow which is supposed to be lovely! And we can hopefully Kayak on the river and see some monkeys! (I'll be coming back the new David Attenborough) I think noosa has some good walks too through their national park which will hopefully shift some of the added weight I am currently carrying! Whoever said 'Australia is really healthy' Lied! I have never seen so many donut shops in my life!!! Can't cope!
The couch journey to noosa is only about 4 hours so shouldn't be too bad!
We are missing you all
Chow for now xxxxx
