Day 39-43
On Wednesday we did a 10 mile walk around the Abel Tasman national park which was tiring but amazing! The views we're incredible and the walk was beautiful through the jungle opening out to lovely little beaches and water falls! There wasn't much to do in Kaiteriteri of a night but that didn't really matter as after all the walking we were ready for bed by 8:30pm!
Yesterday we drove to Franz Josef and Fox Glacier to do the glacier walks which also had breathtaking views! We can't get over how beautiful this country is even the long drives are amazing because of the scenery! We also stopped at Lake Matherson for a short walk which was cool as it has a perfect reflection of the mountains surrounding it! Last night we were in a horrible hostel for 1 night as we weren't arriving till after 8pm and leaving early this morning and there was no way I was persuading jake to let us stay somewhere nice when it was literally just to sleep! We also stopped to do a bit of a food shop the other day and came across a place called 'the warehouse' which is abit like a B&M at home and I found some more cup shotz!!! Woo hoo! (These are like little pasta/noodle soups you put in a mug with boiling water and they are delicious and free on slimming world so I know there's no hidden syns!) they are also the equivalent to 50p each so I'm basically living on these! (See attached photo for my reaction I found them!!).
Today we are driving into Wanaka town where we are for 2 nights (in a nice apart hotel) so atleast we should have a bit of a kitchen to cook some nice food and have a tv! We are doing a few walks over the next few days and exploring Wanaka which is a quaint little town with a big lake. Jakes just watching the first half of the England game but we have to check out at 10am (kick of is 9am so he's having a paddy that he will miss the second half). I'm currently stressed about what to have for dinner tonight now we have our own kitchen so thinking chicken fried rice with veg or chilli with salad! Yum! Either way we want some Meat as we have literally been living like vegetarians the last few days!
Missing you all loads (more so than ever at the minute and keep having mini meltdowns - poor jake lol) I will post some pics from the next few days now!
Lots of love xxxx
