We arrived in Koh Chang a couple of nights ago. We arrived later than expected (due to the bus company being crap) so we got here in the dark - which is never good for finding accommodation. The island is huge! The biggest by far of the islands I've been to - and it's got lots of villages and towns and 7-11's!

The first hut we managed to get a place in was a bit rubbush, but everywhere was full. Claire was so mad - to be honest, the hut was pretty much what i'd expected, but it was a real shock to claire - she didn't really talk to me for the whole evening!! The next day we got up early to sit in a restaurant of a nicer place down the beach to wait for someone to check out so we could get the room. After a few hours, we got a room - which was an improvement. Still no hot shower though and Claire said it wasn't "sturdy enough!".

That was the day before yestserday. I went running in the evening (i nearly died - it's so hot and there are so many really steep hills!) but i ran past a really nice place futher down the road. So the next day, Claire got up to go and see if we could get a bungalow at the nice place - which she managed. So now we're living in a lovely bungalow - with glass windows, pretty gardens, power sockets, a large bathroom and even a hot shower!!! Haven't seen Claire smile so much in ages!! She was beaming the whole of yesterday! The bungalow is a bargain - only 500 baht which is about 7 pounds a night.

We've just been lazing around on the beach - which is very nice - will uploads some photos soon. We might go to a waterfall at some point, and get a boat to one of the much smaller surrounding islands, claire wants to rent a moto for an hour which i have reluctantly agreed to. I told her if we come off and I lose my skin I'll be really cross with her! We're also investigating the possibility of going to a spa for a day before we leave - not sure if our budgets can stretch to it though!

Probably won't be a lot of journal entries from now on because we're not doing much - just relaxing in the sun, topping up our tans before we come home to the English winter!
