After the Mekong Delta I came back to meet Claire. Been here about a week now, met Claire and her Mum and Aunt on Saturday. Before thy arrived, I managed to get a cold and sore throat - which was annoying. Bought some ibuprofen and, as is normal practice in the uk, took 2 tablets. Spent the last 3 days in the Mekong Delta. Decided to go with a tour group since it would be a lot cheaper, but on reflection I think that was a mistake. Went to 2 museums today - War Remnants museum - all about the attrocities in the War - shocking. Makes you wonder what you're capable of - human beings can be so barbaric to one another and also, strangely enjoy other's suffering - quite incomprehensible! Armies are evil places when they corrupt people like that. Also went to Reunification Palace - was a nice contrast to the war museum, and I like being nosy and looking round other people's homes...

In the end I decided to opt for the more expensive bus, since the thought of waiting for a few hours at the border crossing whilst they mucked about and then having to board a new bus didn't fill me with joy.
