So we were all set at 5am to go to Yosemite, we were all packed, we had our new tent and all the stuff we'd need so we set off.
About 5 hours later we were entering the park and already we could tell that it was going to be amazing, the scenery was so breathtaking. We made our way to our camp site which was right in the valley and withn steep cliffs either side and set up our little tent. after we'd set up the tent and put everything that the bears like to eat in bear proof lockers (this includes all toiletries because they love a bit of old spice) it was getting into late afternoon but it was still really warm so we went to the lodge just down the road to use their pool and chill out after the long drive (its so tiring being a passenger aswell). Then we kitted ourselves out with a mini bbq and some food and went back to the campsite for the evening.
The next day we decided wed hike up to Yosemite falls, which is 5th or 6th highest waterfall in the world, so we set off on our very uphill hike, only to find out, 2 hours later as we were looking at the falls that they had in fact dried out. They could have put a sign up or something!!! All was not lost though as we met an english couple who said theyd done a 9 mile trail where they got to see 3 waterfalls and swim in the pools at the top of the falls so we decided that we could do it tomorrow as it was getting late now and we still had to get down. Steak salad for tea on the bbq!!
Next day we were up early and set of on our bus journey to the top of glacier point where our hike started. So off we set, we could see the waterfalls in the distance, probably the most beautiful scenery ive ever seen in my life, it was just absolutely spectacular!!! Then 2 miles later we reached our first waterfall, and i decided t have a swim in the crystal clear and cool pools at the top while kel took some photos. Then kel decided to come over to my pool to get aother photo, and for some reason put her foot in the fastest running bit of water, a bit of an error when your standing on polished granite, needless to say she was swept off her feet and into my pool!! With the camera. Kel was fine which was the good news but the bad news was that the camera was dead. So we had to do the rest of the trail walking past the most breathtaking scenery ever and we have no pohotos to share with you from it! If you want to google the falls they were Nevada and Vernal falls, and they were truly spectacular. So we trudged back to camp and 9 miles later we were home in somber mood. Chillie for tea.
Next day it was time to leave but not before we drove to see the giant sequoia trees (giant redwoods) Which are huge, and some over 3000 yeaqrs old. Then we set off to a secluded hot springs that we had been advised to go to by a shop assistant we bought some back packs from. So we followed his instructions and about 3 1/2 hours later we arrived to the springs which were in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by mountains all around. and there was an english family in them, and a very strange naked guy!!! so we stopped there for about half an hour then continued our drive to vegas, we took a road to get to a highway which was 100 miles long and really creepy. It was real "The Hills Have Eyes" country and we saw about 6 cars the whole way as we cut through the white mountains at dusk, hoping we'd find somewhere to stay before vegas. We were rescued when we eventually reached highway 95 and a little town called beatty where we stopped in a motel for the night.
So to sum up Yosemite was amazing and we definitely want to go back there aswell, this time though with the camera in a very safe place!!!!!
