My European Escapades
For our last day, we left Medjugorge early in the morning and trekked it on the bus to Dubrovnik, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and my favorite place so far, aside from Ireland of course. It also sported the mountain/water combination, except this time it was THE ADRIATIC SEA! Astronauts say it looks the bluest from outerspace. I enjoyed an hour on the beach, swimming and jumping off a raft with some of the other students. Once we realized that it was, in fact, a topless beach, we decided to leave! So, now I've been to my first nudie beach, yick. Seafood is freshly available there and so more affordable than for an ol' Michigan girl like me, and I enjoyed the only ice cream I've liked the taste of since leaving home - a dark chocolate gelati. I also found a ring for 3 Euro, and so now have rings from Ireland, Poland, and Croatia. Our drive home, all 14 hours of it, was worth every minute I was able to spend in Croatia, and I hope I can go back someday to spend more than an afternoon - hopefully with BELLE WOULD FALL IN LOVE WITH IT!
We arrived back on campus at 7:30 this morning, so I had enough time to shower before my first class... and the rest of the day will be just as busy with laundry, Ministry to Mom's, class, meetings, and homework. I'll sleep like a rock tonight!
