Sorry I haven't managed to keep this going. I've been so busy! My last couple of days in Sydney were really nice. I met a few people and we went out together and then went to the beach and chilled out. It was good. I then got my last overnight bus to Melbourne (I was so excited to get it out of the way!!) Unfortunately, we were stuck in traffic for an hour and a half so the bus took 13.5 hours which was not fun!! Especially because I had someone meeting me at the bus drop off point and I felt bad on him for having to wait around for me!
Anyway, in Melbourne I stayed with a guy that I met on my South East Asia leg of the tour and his family. It was really nice to be in a home with a family again and it made me slightly homesick, but his parents were so lovely to me. I had a home cooked meal for the first time in 2 months! It's just what I needed, somewhere to relax and chill out in a nice place with some nice people. There house reminded me of a country house in England. It was just outside Melbourne, their backgarden was huuuuge. So peaceful, not shops around. It was just really nice. I'm really grateful to them for letting me stay, I think more than they know!
So, over the weekend, we went to Anglesea which was a couple of hours away from Melbourne, near Geelong, where we stayed in their family caravan right by the beach which was great! I had a bit of a scare from Supang and Lian that first night because they text me about the earthquake in Japan (which I'd heard nothing about!) And Supang just text me saying "How close to the coast are you?" with nothing else, obviously being right on the coast, I was terrified! So I couldn't sleep that night, but it didn't hit Australia at all and barely effected New Zealand!
The next day, I went surfing for the first time since being in Australia! After being in the waters at Bondi where the waves are huuuuuuge! I was literally shaking at the thought of going into the water again, but it was all fine! It got a bit cold though, so I didn't manage to stand up, but i 'rode a wave'
So yeah, Angelsea was just a lovely little beach place. It was a really nice break. Strange to say that when all of what I'm doing pretty much is a 'holiday' but it just felt different and less of the travelling and more relaxing! It was great.
I'm finally in New Zealand now, the last leg of my tour (maybe...?) I spent my first night in Auckland with Marsil. That was really nice, and I was suprised that Weber and Ida were also coming down. They'd decided to come down for the weekend as Lindsea is moving to Melbourne on Saturday and so they came down for goodbyes and to take her to the airport - I feel I may have been slightly in the way as they were trying to get organised and do goodbyes etc, but of course they didn't make me feel that way! I just didn't want to intrude.
Today, I caught a bus down to Hamilton where I am now staying with the Mclellans. It's so good to see all these Brunei people. I arrived to a letter from John which was a really nice suprise. I'm not sure where I'm going from here, but I will be spending my brithday (tomorrow, how exciting!!) with them and will see how it goes and try to do a bit of planning for both the North and South islands. Roslin(d) said she would take us down to Rotorua on Saturday which will be nice. They've got the hot pool spa things down there, but the weather has been so hot these past few days in NZ (I'm very suprised!!) that I'm not sure I will want to go in them if it carries on that way!
