Japan Travels
Day 1 of the trip. We are staying at the F1 Hotel tonight, and getting on the plane in the morning. Travelled down to Darling Harbour. looked around for some last minute souveneirs, and continued on to the hotel. Dad's Navman took us to the wrong end of Sydney airport, but eventually we found the hotel and checked in. Hotel Formula 1 at Mascot, which is right under the flight path of the domestic aircraft, and about 2km from the International terminal. At $115 per night for a double + 2 bunks it was pretty good value though. In typical F1 fashion, the shower, toilet and sink in one tiny bathroom. The toilet was surrounded by an inch deep of water when the shower was switched on. We made good use of the Krispy Kream with its free wifi next door, Although i found out later in the night that their wifi shuts down at 7pm, but why that is i have no idea, considering the cafe didnt shut until 11pm. Later that night Veronica, the girls and myself went to downtown Mascot for dinner with Frances. Mascot at night is not a happy and inviting place. Got charcoal chicken family pack which was very good. Due to the very limited space in the room we were forced to eat it on the bed with spoons taking the role of all forms of cutlery, from cutting chicken to buttering the bread. We sent all of the items we werent taking with us back to Newcastle, and called it a night.
