As I was getting ready to go to bed, something just didn't feel right. I just had a weird feeling that I was forgetting something, so for some reason I decided to check our travel itinerary on our trip plan on travel.yahoo.com. Remember that at this stage we have already booked and paid for this Hotel room for 4 nights, due to check out on Wednesday morning (3rd September). Yahoo travel blog says that we have 3 nights in Sasebo, and that we are due to check out of this hotel in 9 hours time (it is now 1:50am on Tuesday morning), and catch the train to Himeji, where we have another hotel booking. DAMMIT! It is going to be difficult to stay in 2 cities at the same time!!! So I gather up my receipts and my original booking for 3 nights and trekked downstairs to reception, to try to rectify this whole mess. The guy on the desk knew a little English, and was very helpful when I explained the situation (although not quite as friendly as he has been on past days, but the fact that it was 1:30am in the morning may have had something to do with that). We eventually made sense of what had happened, and he refunded my money for 1 night, I ventured back up to the room. Veronica was now wide awake, so we decided to pack the bags, which were in a state of disarray since we were assuming that we still had another full day in Sasebo to get things in order. So things are now sorted. The upside of all of this is that we now know what we are doing today, but it would have been nice to spend another lazy day in Sasebo (and in this fantastic hotel room). But oh well, things cannot last forever, so it is time to move onto another shoebox hotel room, this time in Himeji.
