On Saturday May 27th, 2023 Angel & I will be leaving Bordentown Yacht Club, and traveling to the Trent Severn Waterway in Canada. Inconseavable (Matt & Ilene) will be traveling with us. We will be gone for about three months.
The Trent Severn Waterway is a waterway that connects Lake Ontario and Georgian Bay on Lake Huron. The waterway was open in 1922 and consist of 386 kilometers (240 miles) of rivers lakes and manmade canals. There are 42 locks on the waterway, including the Peterborough Lift Lock and the Big Chute Marine Railway tow very unique locks.
Our route will take us up the Atlantic Coast to the Hudson River. From the Hudson River we will enter the Erie Canal. We will take the eastern half of the Erie Canal to Lake Ontario, via the Oswego Canal. If we have time we will explore the Saint Lawrence Seaway before heading into Canada. We will return by reversing our route. We plan to be back to Bordentown around Labor Day.
