The Easy Riders return to civilisation!!!
Well, we have just said to goodbye to our Easy Riding companions after 4days on the road with them and are now both feeling pretty sad! They were not just our guides and transport but our friends also (awwwww!) and were both so lovely that we are missing their company already. We have learnt so so much from them, of which we wouldn't have discovered otherwise, about everything from the war to agriculture, to culture and the different tribal peoples in the country, to fascinating insights into the government and how it works and most of all about LUSH traditional Vietnamese food! We have seen some fantastic sights, tasted some awesome foods and generally had a great time with them. Will be posting pics of them and all the sights as soon as possible, but again the internet connection makes it difficult to upload too many at one time, so for the time being you will have to make do with some Hong Kong, ho Chi Minh and Mekong images.....but the best are still to come. The last 4days in Dalat and the central highlands with Joseph and Ted (the westernised names of our Easy Riding buddies!) really had been the highlight so far.
It really does feel like so much longer than just 10days - i guess because we have already seen so much and been so many places. Ah, what weathered travellers we are becoming! Haha, maybe not!
The heat here in Nha Trang is prewtty sizzling, but not nearly so humid as in HCM city, and we are looking forward to some swimming and cooling off tomorrow on a boat trip round the islands here. Hoping to tan (so far tanning VERY slowly because of the factor 40 but burning on my shoulders because of the darn Doxy anti-malarials making us photosensitive.....) tomorrow and not return in the evening looking like a sweaty tomato! I will let you all know!
Hope all is well at home/work. Missing you all as always and sending our love,
Vic and Joe (or Mr and Mrs Barrero - everyone we met on this tour thought we were on our honeymoon....we must have come across as such an idyllic, loving couple...how strange!) xxx
