Its been some three months since I last updated this blog. At the start of those three months i was working for a removals company in Perth but the work had dried up. I still needed to get my second year visa requirements sorted (regional/farm work for 88 days) and an opportunity came up! My friend Phil, who I met in Thailand an had become good friends with lived with a girl called Carly. As I explained my situation with Carly, she explained that she had a sister living in the Cocos Island whose father in law had a clam farm and that I would be able to get my farmwork done! The work would involve cleaning and distributing clams for aquariums. After a couple of phone calls I was off to the Cocos Islands in the middle of the Indian Ocean! Initially I was going to stay for 4 weeks, but I ended up staying for 9 weeks! During my time on the Islands I swam with sharks, had barbeques on my own private island for the day, and camped on an island making our own fire! I also drove a bus, was a bartender, a cleaner and clam farmer as part of some of my jobs during my stay. I also got to do some extreme fishing and most days I had a 12 mile beach to myself!
I am now back at Perth and have moved into a house share with a couple called Adam and Soph who I met in Laos. I have found a little church in South Perth and am now looking for my next job. I have sent off for my second year visa and expect to be in Australia until at least November 2013 !!!
