Jeremy's still feeling quite ill, so I spent the morning walking around Puerto Ayora while he lay in bed. Eventually, after plying him with gatorades, I dragged him out to have lunch at the Galapagos Deli (fish and chips, and a vegetarian sandwich) followed by their wonderful artesan icecreams.
At around 2pm, when the sun was beginning to cool down slightly, we set off on a walk to Tortuga Bay. It was a long walk, and it was still sunny and hot. We bought another bottle of gatorade (uva flavoured) at the start and wished we had three more. Eventually we passed all the lizards and birds and my complaining and made it to the beach (not the first beach because the currents are too 'strong', but the second beach where there was no current at all). There, we hired a couple of snorkel masks, but, we quickly realised once we were in the water that there was nothing to be seen so we exchanged them for a kayak. We had a great time out on the water - kayak out to the mangroves, drop the anchor (the fish kept trying to eat it), and snorkel around (at one point we scared all the fishes away when we found a secluded corner: "I think I can be the first to say that I've had a blowjob on a kayak in the Galapagos Islands") ANYWAY, we left soon after (Park Rangers kick everyone off the beach at 5pm), and walked back the way we came, bumping into Jay and Liz once more. We arranged to catch up for dinner that night since they would be taking the boat to San Cristobal the next morning. So we returned to the Galapagos Deli for a vege pizza and a tuna sandwich and then icecream comes to eat on the pier and watch the sharks swim below.
