We arrived in San Antonio after a shorter drive (only 4 hours!) early afternoon. We had the afternoon to explore San Antonio in the 37 degree heat! I went to see the Alamo, walked the riverside route which was so pretty and walked around the city seeing the city hall, the cathedral and a cool market selling lots of Texan/Mexican themed things! We had a very long drive to Houston but along the way we stopped off at the Tabasco factory and had a tour around it. I'm brining mini free samples home! We didn't actually get to see Houston as the drive was so long, expected in such a huge country but we stayed in a state park for the night in little huts, so it was a nice way to ease us back into tents! We cooked Mexican food for dinner which was really yummy! The next morning we set off to San Antonio!
