(Belle) - We bought muffins and juice and had a lovely breakfast picnic on some rocks in Central Park. Lots of tiny brave birds were sitting by our feet waiting for us to leave so they could eat our crumbs.
Central Park is huge. We went in three different play areas in the park, some had water fountains that we could run through. We saw lots of turtles in the lake and we climbed up Gargamel's castle from the Smurf film. In the park I found a ..... ROTTED ANIMAL SKIN! I don't know what animal it was from.
Near Central Park is a big toy shop that had soldiers standing outside. We had our fortune told by Zoltar who is a hairy man in a box. I bought some New York outfits for my Build-a-Bear bear. One is the Statue of Liberty and another is an apple. New York's nickname is The Big Apple.
(Sophie) - On our last day of New York we spent our time in Central Park. I really enjoyed climbing over the rocks and spotting all the turtles. There were loads of turtles, one looked exactly like a ninja turtle as it had a red eye mask!
We went to see John Lennon's memorial in Strawberry Fields. He was a Beatle and got shot in New York many years ago. I made a leaf flag and put it on the Imagine mosaic which was a song that he sang.
We also saw a huge Alice in Wonderland statue that mummy really loved apart from all the naughty children climbing all over it. It had Alice and her cat Dinah, Cheshire Cat, the White Rabbit, The Mad Hatter, the Dormouse, Bill the Lizard, The Caterpillar and a snail. Around it there were little poems by Lewis Carroll.
After the park we went to a posh toy shop. We played on The Big Piano which is a giant piano that you have to step on the keys to play. I found a big Spiderman cuddly toy that is as big as me! It was too big to buy though.
