Well here goes, we're going to attempt to write our first blog, Hope you enjoy reading it as much as we are living it!
Our journey started at Heathrow Airport...where we did abit of speed dating with the dead! Unbe none to us we sat in the middle of a group of single swingers all going on holiday together to Bangkok!! We were mistaken as been part of the group and we were randomly chatted up through out the evening...Not a good start!
We finally set off and landed in Singapore on 28th October, to be greeted by the most awful Hostel known to man! The beds were dirty, the doors didn't lock and the guy who ran it smelt worse than my trainers, but on the upside Singapore was an amazing, clean place, although very expensive! A beer was around $10 which meant I had to curb my drinking for the time spent there. A trip to Singapore is not complete without a Singapore Sling in The Raffles Hotel Long bar. We did (stupidly) forget were we were and re-ordered another round which cost us our budget for the next week!
The food is amazing, we mostly ate at the Hawker stalls were food is cheaper. These stalls litter the city, they contain several stalls offering different cusines. The variety is massive. We never did get use to eating egg fried rice and Samosa style food for brekkie... they are also mad on Chilli's, you get them with everything!!! Crab and Chilli....Noodle soup and chilli....Fish balls and Chilli the list is endless.
Shazzer also decided she would like to learn abit of the lingo so asked the waiter what 'thank you' was in his language...To which he replied "Thank you". Looking confused shazzer said "Nooo, what is the translation for 'thank you' in YOUR language" to which he replied again "Thank you"...This went on for ten minutes! Finally after much confusion, it transpired that they translate the same, to which Shazzer ended this rather benign conversation with a "Thank you!!!" By this time I had a headache and needed another beer!!!
With the Hostel been so disgusting and the fact that we couldnt walk round with a peg on our noses for much longer we decided to head to Kuala Lumpur earlier than expected, we travelled by bus which took us around 7 hours and arrived tea time on 30th October, just in time for the street festival to celebrate Halloween!...it got messy very quickly, and thats another story.......
