Hello all, its Martin here thought i better let you know what I think of India. On arrival I was quite shocked with delhi, it a lot busier than I imagined and is pretty smelly too. There is quite a lot of pollution due to all the traffic - so I wasn't really keen on the place. The drivers in India are insane - you can take a test at 15 but i'm not convinced that many do and if they do what they get tested on. No one bothers with looking where they are going, lanes do not seem to exist and what you would expect to be common sense like not over taking on a corner or if there is trucks coming in the other direction also does't matter. We travelled down thru rajistan which was nice, tha Taj Mahal and Agra Fort were spectacular. When we were in Pushkar I got kinda made to do this holy water ritual where some holy guy took me to the edge of a lake and made me chant this Hindi prayer, he then gave me petals and spices that i had to offer to the Gods? I was then rewarded with a Hindu spot and string bracelt - as well as a lifetime of good luck - so that no bad. Our final destination was Goa - which is a fantastic place. There is no tax on the food or drink so could get a bottle of beer for about 30rupees. The beach where we were was called calungute, it was braw, very clean and loads of little shacks to get food - the sun loungers were free too. There was quite a strong current so got knocked head over heels a few times when in the water - but that happened to everyone so didn't look like the only idiot. I'm not sure I would come back to many of the places in India - other than goa. The main sights are spectacular - but the social divide among the people is a bit sad. You either have everything (including a big shiney Skoda Octavia - the only respectable car I've seen here) or you have absolutely nothing bar what you're wearing. Its quite weird seeing loads of people sleeping on the streets at night. We'll were off to Hong Kong in a wee while so better go. Glad to see celtic back on top of league - and livi second bottom -haha! Hope you all well Cheerio Martin
