Thursday 3rd January
It was bye bye to our private double room but it won't be the last time as we have booked ourselves into another double room in the City of Sydney for one night as it was cheaper, comparing to booking ourselves into dorm rooms. We checked out and took our time as we still had internet access on our laptop so we made the most of it before we left! Daniel have been checking the post daily for the christmas card that was posted by his family. Each day, it was unsuccessful and we were concerned so Daniel spoke to the receptionist about it. Apparently it wasn't in the post box for us to look through, it had been stored in the back room as it arrived very early! So it was lucky that Daniel asked before leaving!
we left the hostel and caught a bus to the city and went to search for our hostel. We found out that it had bad reviews and we found out too late so we were worried about it. On our arrival, the reception was fine so once we checked our room, it was very basic with damp on the wall. However it didn't affect us that badly as we were only there for a night anyway!
Dumped our bags and left the room to have a look around in the city. Nearby, there was a shopping mall so we had a peek around and spotted few bargains so we treated ourselves few tops by using the money that we had for christmas from Daniel's parents. The only concern we had was trying to fit them into our bags as they were very full up already!
We came across the markets and noticed the small suitcase that was the cheapest we have seen and we decided to get it to ease our load to avoid us straining our backs(!) And of course to fill it in with all the stuff we have been buying!
We were very hungry after having nothing to eat all day so we treated ourselves a Domino Pizza that we have been craving for. We didn't want to buy any food cos it would be a waste to throw it away again due to us catching a flight to Cairns on the next day.
We went back to our room and were so amazed that our room was so hot and stuffy! We did have a fan going on in there but it didn't help at all so it was very uncomfortable!
Daniel checked on our lapto to see if there was any wireless internet access and amazingly we still had some leftover that we bought from our previous hostel so we continued to use it in our comfort of the room(!)
We then started to prepare our suitcase/bags for the flight. It was getting hot in our room and each time we went out of the room, it was much cooler outside in the hallway! Unfortunately we didnt sleep well due to the high humidity in our room!
