Thursday 4th October

Arrived to San Diego at about 5am! Had a cab taking us straight to the hostel. It was about 20mins ride away. We were supposed to have a free transport pick up from the hostel. Instead they sent us a cab to pick us up and offered to pay towards the fare. We only had to pay $5 extra. Once we arrived, we just went straight to bed to recover due to lack of sleep on the train/bus.

We couldn't really catch up with our sleep as we still have to check in properly by 11am so we only had like 3 hours sleep. Once that was sorted, we decided to browse around to see what the town got, plenty of shops and the beach is like 1 min walk away! Wandered on the beach, had our lunch. After a while, it was getting chilly so we returned back to the hostel to do our laundry. Just a chill out day.

There was a library nearby so we decided to attend as they offered free internet. While we were searching to see what San Diego have, we found a city pass offer which had all the attractions we wanted to see like Sea world, San Diego Zoo or Wild Adventure Park, 3 day hopper pass to Disneyworld in LA and Universal Studio. Decided to buy it so we can save money to buy each one of the ticket.

We met the other couple we shared with in our room, Chris and Natalie. After a short chat with them, and asking each other where we were from. Guess what? They are also from Norwich!! What a small world, especially with all of different people from everywhere, we were both put together in the same room! We couldn't believe it. Also we learnt that Chris got a step brother who is profoundly deaf. We checked with them to see if we know him, unfortunately we didn't. They knew abit of sign language and wanted to learn more.
