Thursday 27th Sept
A couple of days ago, we booked ourselves for the guided tour around the Grand Canyon. Our guide started by leaving at the hostel by 9am and arriving at the South Rim a hour and 30mins later by the shuttle bus.
When we arrived, we saw the scenery, it was gorgeous and Daniel said that he felt like that he was looking at the picture like that it wasn't real!
After taking alot of photos, we did abit of hiking towards to the bottom of the canyon for 20mins. It was nice and clear day, saw plenty of eagles flying above. We then met up with others to move on to take a different view of the scenery. We had our lunch on the rim too, taking in all the views and of course taking too many photos!
After our lunch break, our guide Daniel told us to hike down to get a closer view of the bottom. It had no stable trails, so we all decided to take a risk! It was fun cos afterwards we had to do the real rock climbing!!
As we climbed down, it was difficult and Daniel had enough as it was so easy to see how long the big drop to the bottom was! Once we all got back up to the rim to meet our guide, he took us to the different area again for the different views.
At the one of the hkes, we sat down on the big rock, taking in all the peace and the views. Unfortunately when Lisa got up and tried to stable her balance, she stood on her own finger so hard!! It was very painful and swollen! It was also bleeding! Ouch! Good job that she didn't break it! First Aid box was finally being used!
After a while, after all the hiking and climbing, we were getting worn out so we returned back to our hostel by 7pm.
We treated ourselves a well deserved 3 home cooked courses - well actually microwave meals! (Soup, Ready made meal and cookies) It was our last night so it was packing time again and moving on to Las Vegas tomorrow. We had a "8 Beds" room to ourselves which was nice! The hostel had been the best so far as its a "home, away from home" feeling. Everyone were friendly"
