14/9/17 Makrygialos with stops at Kalou Choriou & Kalamafkas After the usual breakfast and snorkel we pack our cases as today we head off to the south east coast, Makrygialos, leaving The Stonehouse. Today was the day, the day I had dreamed of, to step on the island of Spinalonga. I had researched, planned so we would be the one of the first on the island before the hoards of visitors arrived from Elounda and Agia Nickolas and beyond. I awake early and leave a snoozing Russ and eagerly go outside to see the sunrise, it really is paradise here. Waking up to the red hues on the mill pond sea and within a few steps you are in the sea is just super. By 7am the whole sea seemed to turn orange and red as the sun rose in front of me.
