Hello from Mount Magnet!
We have spent two nights on the road now. Our first was in a rest stop on the side of the highway, surprisingly the trucks didn't keep us up all night but the cold did - we didn't pack enough blankets :( Our second night we spent on an old sheep station about 40km south of Mount Magnet. You would think we would have learnt by now but we are always surprised at how small these towns are considering the size of their font on maps. Yep, you guessed it, no Target Country (spewing! we need more blankets). The sheep station was called Wogarno Station. It was quirky and rusty and we were the only ones there.
So. Peaceful.
We had to climb a steep hill to get reception so that we could stream the Derby and finish the last of my assignments. WOO HOOOOOOOO. Our showers were heated by a chipheater and to flush the toilet you had to pull a wire string. Simple living at its best.
We are travelling surprisingly slow and are taking it day by day. Our only plan is to eventually get to Broome, and then maybe do the Gibb River Road for a few weeks if the weather permits. Will keep you posted when we next reach internet signal.
Until next time...
