Along the Great Ocean Road I was talking up the Queen Victoria Markets to Alex (who is a market enthusiast). So, we passed through the last few stops of the road fairly quickly in order to get here to shop. We camped up in a carpark just out of Geelong, before heading into Melbourne only just missing peak hour. I am the dedicated city driver as Alex just can't hack it, so as soon we reached traffic I was put in the driver seat and Alex was in the navigator seat (as I just can't hack that). As we arrived in Melbourne we learnt that the markets aren't actually open on Wednesdays, so instead we went into the city. We had a little trouble with the whole parking deal because the Troopy is just too damn tall (like its owner), so we wound up at the Convention Centre where we found parking that didn't have a height limit. We spotted the Nike Store where Alex bought me my new joggers and I found myself in heaven when I discovered a Tigerlily outlet. It wasn't long before Alex was bored out of his brain, having walked the entire centre 3 times whilst I had shopped in 3 stores. We then walked to the city to bore Alex with more shopping, before coming back and paying the $20 parking fee that awaited us. We then dropped the car off at The Botanical Gardens, got all dolled up in the street and caught a cab to Tram Stop 125 where we boarded The Colonial Restuarant Tram. After having a few too many champaz we walked back to the gardens to dabble in some fine Victorian culture; Romeo and Juliet in play. Our second day in Melbourne was spent at the markets, the beach, and now McDonald's to leach off of their amenities - free WiFi. Tonight we are staying with my friend Kate, and we are going to get her ratfaced on Sangrias to give her a nasty hangover for work the following day. Oh the life of free travelling.
Shenae.
