We have survived the Fête Nationale du Quebec in Montreal. This is a big deal si vous êtes Québecois. In fact, La Fête has become the significant holiday to celebrate here (rather than Canada Day for obvious and political reasons we shall not discuss at this time!) However, the concerts, food, and fireworks were fantastic. The parade was one of a kind, which considering we were in New Orleans for Mardi Gras, makes Montreal our number one! The entire parade told the story of the history of Quebec (in French so I was very thankful for the visuals!). I think we could step things up a bit in Fort St. John with a little history lesson of our own on July 1st. The costumes and props were superb and the weather was absolutely perfect. The concert in the park where the parade ended was prepared for at least 20,000 people - which incidentally is the entire population of Fort St. John! Now that's a party!
Of course, what's a party without a little rioting… but we were safe and sound asleep in our little home before the spurious events took place.
We will be celebrating Canada Day in Ottawa, which considering it is our nation's capital, should prove to be yet another great celebration! Looks like we will party our way home!

Cathy Glad to hear you're having fun in OUR country too Smiths. It's great to see the variety of cultures in our continent isn't it? You're getting closer to "the barn" ... racing a little faster? XO
