We totally enjoyed the enchanted Island of Prince Edward. I wasn't expecting so much activity on such a small plot of land, but like England, they make good use of all they have.
On Friday we sailed from PEI on the Northumberland Ferry to Nova Scotia. We are now west of Halifax in a beautiful little spot overlooking the entire Annapolis Valley. It is amazing. The lush farm land is covered in orchards, vineyards, berries, and row crops, of corn, wheat, rye, peaches, apples, blueberries, strawberries, etc., it's like a little heaven to a farmer's heart. Tim is happy to drive around, until he sees a farmer to talk to, a field to walk into, or something different he needs to figure out...
One of the highlights for me was to meet Pete Luckett at the Market this morning. When I was a teenager Pete had a 5 minute TV blurb after the news about his locally grown fruit or vegetables. All I knew then was that he was "Pete, from Pete's Fruitique," and he lived in the east somewhere... Today I got to meet him in person - and what a person he is! He now has three markets and a vineyard that sells a very nice Leon Millet.
Tomorrow we will drive around some more, perhaps on our way to Digby, looking, tasting, oohing and aahing, walking the ocean floor, scouring the beaches, searching for geodes, finding treasures, experiencing life where the pace is just right, and the people are friendly above and beyond.

Gramma Smith Wonderful! Thanks so much, Roz.
Candice You are making me homesick!!!! Enjoy!
Cathy Rogers Love this Roz. Great stuff. I've never even met Pete & I've lived here forever! I, too, love the Atlantic Region. (I'm at a cynical & critical time in my life, however, where I continually say we're forgotten about ... Central Canada too often thinks the country stops at the Quebec/NB border. So I'm so happy you're discovering our pearls!
