HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! I have three moms I would like to thank for all their love and prayers throughout my life. My very own mom (who just turned 80 yesterday) is my very best friend. She is the rowdiest 80 year old I know, and I miss hanging out with her! My mother-in-law, who has prayed faithfully for me for the past 21 years, and mom Kuhn, who raised me through my university years! These women are second only to the mother of Jesus, and I love them very much. Thank you for guiding, steering, loving and praying for me all these years.
We are leaving the farm tomorrow and it is proving harder than we thought... Tim has finished framing, insulating, and cladding the cold storage shed which has been wistfully renamed the Honeymoon Cabin. Eden and Naomi are totally attached to their bottle fed lambs which they have lovingly named Lucy and Harriet (for some reason!?). Eli got up at some ungodly hour on Saturday and went to Market with Ted where they sold out of all the produce we harvested the day before and will miss both Ted and Blue (not so much Maude!). I have been very busy taking pictures and have totally enjoyed our week here. I will miss it all.
Coming from the overwhelming, over stimulating, streets and crowds of New York City to Shepherd's Garden has been as calming for my mind and body as a cup of tea is for my soul. Ted and Lou are wonderful people who have a fantastic, peaceful, uncongested lifestyle which is pure and organic in the truest sense. We will miss the chores, the lambs, the fuzzy cows and woolly pigs (Tim's idea of a sheep), the cotton mill, and market, even weeding, planting and harvesting... It is a great life. Thank you Ted and Lou for everything!
