This morning we headed out on our walk early as it gets hot quickly when the sun comes up. We started by walking along the top of the gorge. The white gums against the red are spectacular. We then headed down to Fortescue falls, we kept going around to Fern pool as we come back past the falls. Fern Pool is an important women's Aboriginal site so they ask you to swim quietly! This morning we went on a Seafarers tour of the port. Seafarers is an organisation that provides support to the workers onboard the cargo ships by giving them a place to go to for some time on shore and emotional support including a chaplain. The tour started with some information about the port and seafarers before we went out on a boat around the harbour which goes around all the ships in port and brings in any seafarers who would like some timeout the boat. This morning we had breakfast overlooking 80 mile beach. Then we packed our home and set out for our drive to Port Headland. The passing landscape is forever changing. When we arrived in Port Headland we went straight to the visitor centre to find out what tours were available. This morning we packed our motorhome up ready for our first long drive! We revisited a couple of places in Broome before driving 4 hrs to 80 mile beach. We had a couple of stops beside the road to change drivers and have lunch before reaching the turn off. It was then 10km along a very rough(well at least for motorhome) road to our campsite.
