Hi all,
I had just finished writing my blog but this old guy next to me was piddling about with my hard drive and accidentally switched it off - argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway back to square one! Mum, dad and i were up before six am this morning (groan). i think we were all a bit on edge as we all had different things to worry about today. i left them at 11, it was really sad to say goodbye - had a few tears on the bus but managed to pull myself together.
I knew today was going to be tricky because i had an interview in the afternoon, but I didn't realise quite how tricky it would end up!!! My bus was late getting into brisbane, There was no taxi's so i had to walk for miles with the 'rucksack of doom' and 2 other bags and it was over 30 degrees. An old lady blessed me for 'my courage'!? i then got to my hostel and found out that I was in the partner hostel 4 blocks away - meanwhile the clock is ticking away!
i got to the hostel and there was a massive queue so i had to wait for ages. i finally got signed in, ran up 6 flights of stairs (yes, with the rucksack of doom), changed and then was running up the road to the train station within 5 minutes of getting signed in. I got my ticket and ran to the platform, took the ticket out of mouth and managed to burst my lip, sending blood dripping down my face!!!!
The train was 10 minutes late and the station i wanted was the 10th stop. by this stage i was already half an hour late and a bit of a mess. i got to the station and phoned the office and they didnt know how to get there (great help). i booked a taxi and it didnt show up. by 4.15pm (an hour and a quarter late) i gave up. as if things couldnt get any worse - i looked down and my top was inside out!!!!
Still, i made it back to the hostel in one peice! Brisbane is a really nice city and i can't wait to explore it, but it will have to wait until tomorrow as im too tired to do anything, plus it isn't good to walk around in the dark on my own. My roomates are as stale as a 5 week old tuna steak - no chat whatsoever!!!! Tomorrow there is some st patricks day stuff in town so im sure I will be getting amongst it!
Mum, dad, i hope you get back safely and still have a sense of humour - say hi to hasselhoff and 'rude dog'.
Lots of love
