Bula from FIJI!!!!!!!!!

After a 24 hour journey from melbourne to our hostel in fiji, we arrived safely at 3pm yesterday. We spent an uncomfortable night in auckland airport before flying over to fiji and we were all feeling a bit under the weather. The temperature difference was incredible once we arrived into fiji airport - sweaty!! 3 guys were singing fijian songs and playing the guitar as we entered the airport - a much nicer welcome than I got from the new zealand customs department!!!

We caught the local bus from the airport to the hostel. It was absolutely packed with local women and babies and we were all feeling very hot at the back of the bus. This baby that was jammed next to me coughed all over me and it sounded as if it had some sort of disease and it had a rash up its arms - couldn't wait to get out of the bus!! All the locals were really nice though.

We arrived at the nicest hostel I have ever been to EVER!! We made an excellent choice to come here. It was used for the first celebrity love island so its a pretty swanky hostel. Not that im admitting to watching the programme, its really mad to recognise parts of the set - I haven't been in the love shack yet though!!!!

Last night we sheltered from the rain (its been raining heavily here since we arrived) and ate and drank!! One of the guys from the hostel made all the new people drink some fijian drink which tasted like dish water with a bit of washing up liquid thrown in - yuck! It was a pretty nice welcome though!!

Today it is still raining heavily so we are going to try and get the fun bus to the nearest town (1hour away) to get some cash out. I rented out a vodaphone pin card for my phone and it doesn't work so I have to phone them up and say im not using it. Going to use my uk pin as I think that will work - once I figure out how to put money on it from over here!!! I expect some birthday texts next monday on my 21st (ahem) birthday!!! only joking!

I'll upload some pics when the weather improves - the rain is affected the connection.
