Calling all pizza lovers! If you're planning a trip to South East Asia, drop in on our new found friend: Long Jim New York Pizza. Without a doubt, Jim makes the BEST pizza around, but he needs your support.
Sleepy little Lampang isn't really metropolitan enough for dining out on pizza to be the trend it is back home... yet. And despite the elegant mansions of former lumber barons, impressive teak temples and being the only town in Thailand where horse carts are still found (you can't miss the brightly coloured carts that drip with nylon flowers and are handled by Stetson-wearing drivers!), the city sees relatively few visitors. While this gives it a more 'undiscovered' feel, it means Jim has his work cut out for him.
Fun facts: As well as being a self-taught pizza chef -- spending the last two years perfecting his recipe -- Jim has customised a bread oven, to get it producing a high enough temperature that you only need wait five to ten minutes for your pizza!!
I've never had Fast Food that tasted so good.
I loved it sooo much that we rocked up at his cafe every night -- forgoing eating at our stylish, if not slightly out-of-place, boutique hotel on the river. I even managed to squeeze in a few extra slices from the weekend market stall he'd set up in front of the restaurant. By the way Jim, great idea for getting the locals hooked! They won't be able to resist you for long....
