Nobody actually knows where the nickname "Show Me" state stems from, but Missouri seems to have plenty to show its visitors. With 4 national championship teams in the last decade, water sports, museums, and hiking trails Missouri has something for everyone. St. Louis is the home to many of these attractions; the Katy Trail begins there, the St. Louis Cardinals and Blues are there, Anheuser Busch Headquarters is in the heart of downtown and of course the magnificent Gateway to the West: the St. Louis Arch is there as well. Little known fact about the Arch; it's actually a building. Visitors can ride elevators to the top and see incredible views of the city below, once at the top they can even feel the (perfectly safe) building sway in the breeze. The lakes are bustling with activity during the summers. Boating, jet skis, fishing, swimming are popular on the water and there are dozens of hiking trails in the surrounding areas. There are several theme parks in the state as well. Six Flags St. Louis of course, Worlds of Fun in Kansas City, and Silver Dollar City in Branson. Kansas City is the home of the National World War 1 Museum, and has historical sites of the LDS church nearby. Branson is widely known for its shows and museums including the Titanic Museum and the Dolly Stampede
