S&L Quest
So we arrived in sydney last night around 6ish. Didnt really realise how busy this city was going to be and as a result the top hostels were fully booked but we managed to get a central one...its quite basic but we got a private room for cheap so im not complaining.
We only have 3 days in the city which is no where near enough so we literally dumped our bags into the room and started exploring. We walked down to china town...quite a crazy little place where literally everyone is chinese. We got some tasty food then took a walk down to darling harbour. This was really pretty with some gorgeos restarants by the water front. We then walked up to sydney sky tower to get a great view of the city by night and then took a tour on the mona rail.
The next day (today) we got up at 8am and prepared ourselves for a hardcore day of sightseeing,..we were both expecting a lot but nothing could prepare either of us for how breath taking it was.
We walked down to circular key (sydney harbour)..the sun was shinning and in front of us we had the harbour, sydney harbour bridge and the opera house...stunning!
It's crazy because you see it on postcards and in books all the time and you think you;d be used to it but its still an amzing view when you are there.
We took a walk around the opera house although we couldnt afford to do the tour (it's a bit of a rip off). We then walked around sydneys botanical gardens and chilled out there for a bit taking everything in.
Directly under the harbour bridge is an area of town called the rocks. This is like walking back into the 1900's and is one of the only bits of history remaining in sydney so its a really cool place. They've converted one of the old house into a museum where they sell vintage english foods.
We then walked up and over the sydney harbour bridge and up into the tower on the bridge where they have a really great look out point although it's not so good if you're afraid of heights.
When we'd done all that we took a walk through hyde park and then down to oxford street which is sydneys main gay and lesbain area only that it didnt seem at all to be gay and lesbain (much to sams happiness)
Tomorrow we going to check out bondi beach, get the ferry to manly and explore kings cross. And if there are any decent djs playing we are hopefully going to get to check out 'HOME' nightclub. Then its back on the road again. But I have a feeling that it's defintely not going to be either of our last times in sydney as we both really want to come back and work here.
Love to everyone back home
