Welcome to a renewed blog spot. I hope this works seeing as most of you know that my relationship with computers is not the optimum one could hope for...

I promise to scrawl here merely to reassure enquiries as to my status of live-ness if that's a word, rather than proving any form of talent for writing the witty and sensational. I can only apologize in advance for writing badly, although I reserve the right to blame foreign keyboards and suspect internet links. You have been warned.

So FINALLY the moment has come to cast all fears aside and step out into the incredible world of dodgy taxi drivers and shish kebabs that is Syria. Well, it has almost arrived. I leave on Monday, approximately six days from now. I am writing a blog predominantly to see whether this still works, and to hope that I can get people to read this as supposedly facebook is not syria's best friend. So, read on, sign up if you are even slightly intrigued and then I can be fabulously idle and write here and then pretend to be offended if people don't appear to know what I am doing. What a wonderful arrangement.
