Woke up feeling good and wanting to run at about 6:30 am. I headed out by 7am and ran down the coast to the south. I did not know what to expect but I had biked up to the north to the grocery store last night and saw nothing special just a bunch of residential areas. I had planned on running and then doing some swimming. Under my running shorts I wore my swimming jammers and carried my goggles in the running shorts pocket. I ended up finding a great trail to run on that was a loop course of maybe two miles. I ran without any music and just enjoyed the sights of the beach and listening to the waves break on the shore. The trail was fantastic on one side was the beach or rock cliffs overlooking the ocean and the other side was a very open and green golf course. It was amazing to get back out on a run and it has been two weeks since I ran the 50 miler at Surf the Murph and this back to running was way overdue. I only ran about 4 miles but it felt great and I enjoyed every minute of it. I then ended up at the swimming pool which is located right on the ocean. This pool is triangular shaped and when the tide is in the waves will crash over into the pool. It was strange to swim in but very enjoyable. I believe the length of the pool is somewhere between 30-40 meters. I found it difficult to swim in a straight line with no lane lines or lane markers and you could also feel the pull of the ocean. I only swam for about 20 minutes but it was fantastic. I came back and made myself a bit of breakfast. I meet a English man named John last night and this morning he was explaining some things about sailing to me. He was off to crew today in a sailing race which sounds interesting. He told me last night that if I wanted to sail I could take the bus up to Manly and mill about the Yacht club and someone would take me sailing.....I mentioned that maybe tomorrow night and he said that Friday night was the night that they do the twilight sailing...OH well...... All is good here the weather is hot and sunny and I already managed to get some sun burn on the top of my head....oh well
