Morning,
Hello everyone, it has only been a couple of days but we have managed to fit in sooo much!
Just to let you know we have arrived in Thailand safely.
We last emailed when we were in China, about to take part in our lessons. My calligraphy lesson was so good managed to learn how to draw numbers and my name! and left with less money then arrived with, as I got conned into buying a calligraphy set! Then walked down the road and found that I could have bought it for much less! Oh well!!
My Kungfu lesson was really good we learnt 10 moves and had to put them together into a routine!! i learnt about yin and yang taking energy from your surroundings and then realeasing them to send you opponent in a different direction. Kungfu is not violent its used to protect yourself and to send your enemy away from you onto a diffrent path....so basically i can kick arse now!!
We got our last over night train to Hong Kong of which we witnessed a whole carriage of chinese arguing over sleeping arrangments it was very amusing! and went on for a very long time, enough time to take a couple of snaps!!
We arrived in Hong Kong, getting through customs etc took some time, but when we finally arrived in our hotel (best hotel we have stayed in) room on the 17th floor was really good. We explored HK etc I loved it, loads of sky scrapers, people and neon flashing lights everywhere. We had a very sad good bye to Ricky, when he left us to go up Vicotia peak, it was cuddles all round! Very emotional!
We took a very steep tram to the peak, once up the top we were stunned by the view, which was incredible, we were up there for hours taking loads of pictures and taking it all in! We were there at night so all the lights were absolutely amazing!
The tour has actual finished but a couple of the group are still around so we decided to meet up with a couple of them the next day. We explored more of Hong Kong, checking out the markets where we have managed to spend more money.
We said even more emotional good byes too the rest of the group as Kimberly and I left, we were scared and excited at the same time as we are actual travelling on our own with no idea where were actual going! but all is well!
We then made our way to Nigora's flat, Kimberlys friends, friends in Hong Kong Island. Nigora kindly let us stay with her for two nights, possibly the best two days/nights so far!!
Nigora is an exchange student studying in Hong kong, she showed us her University and took us around Hong Kong island, discovering the very expensive shops, the street full of hookers which was very exciting and we also travelled to another island, called lamma Island very different to Hong Kong much more calmer and we managed to find our first beach of the trip!
We also discovered quite a bit of Hong Kongs night life, which is very different to the UK! The first night we went for dinner with some of Nigoras friends then headed to LKF where lots of bars and clubs are situated, this was amazing. We only went for a drink (free for ladies) but ended up dancing to a philippine R&B cover band till 3 in the morning!
The following night we went back to the same place, discovering more clubs, a large stage, (which the band from the night before recognised us and were happy for us to be their dancers for the night!) different dance moves and a couple of drunk guys giving away drinks this is when we experienced our 1st/2nd and 3rd jagerbomb of the trip!! We didnt get home till 5 in the morning and had to be up 3 hours later to catch our flight! Good times!!
The next day with lack of sleep we felt slightly hungover and found catching the plane slightly hard, considering we saw the bus we needed to catch go passed us 3 times before we eventually made it on!!
We eventually made it to Bangkok, very different to what we expected but looks good... drinks are cheap!! We are now 7 hours in front, Kimberlys phone still does not work, but skype is every where, so much easier to contact you.
We have enjoyed our first night in Bangkok and we will update you with the fun and frolics from Thailand in a couple of days!!
Photos are coming, it just hasnt been working, will keep trying though!
Once again sorry for spelling and grammar, not much time on here!
loads of love
Stephanie and Kimberly
