On the morning that Sixtine and I we were going to go hiking at Silver Falls with a few friends, my mother Elana cut her foot very badly! This meant that we were not to go hiking today and we were rather disappointed. However my friends Ellen and Mariah still decided to come over so that we could show Sixtine a little more of the beautiful city that is Portland. We packed lunch and headed over to the water front where they were setting up for the famous Blues Festival that takes place every year for America's Independence Day or forth of July. We walked down the water front until we reached the Morrison bridge and walked over, giving Sixtine a view of the Willamette River which cuts the city in half. We then crossed back to the water front over the Hawthorne bridge and laid out a blanket for a picnic in the sun! However, the day didn't end there.
We then decided to go to Alberta Street to the new and rather delicious Salt and Straw ice cream that is becoming world renowned. We took a bus there and back, however on the way back we almost didn't make it to the bus stop and had to sprint for five blocks! Thankfully there was a hold up on the bus and we made it just in time!
It was a very eventful day and we all had a lot of fun!
