So we finally left our families after a very emotional goodbye and went and got a stiff drink to calm our nerves and stop the tears! By the time we'd finished it was time to get on the flight to Stansted, which nearly ran smoothly apart from the robbing feckers at Ryanair tried to charge me 35 euros because my hand luggage wouldn't fit in that stand they have at the gates. After frantically unpacking and repacking they let us on! Oh and Ileft her passport on the plane but some nice guy shouted after us and returned it! When we landed at Stansted we had about 5 hours to kill. Because our backpackers didn't have covers the check in lady told us we had to check them in as fragile which was a whole other desk in the airport. We turned up there and there was 2 men who didn't seem to have a clue what they were doing and sent our bags off into oblivion. I was rather concerned they wouldn't be on our plane! By the time we had checked FB, and had something to eat it was time to get on the plane.
Me and Hannah had never been on a long haul flight, or with Air Asia so we were expecting the worst, but when we got on the plane the nice air hostess guided us to the front of the plane. I couldn't actually believe how much leg room we had, about 1 metre, the seats were like beds and we had our on Sony tv's. So we laid back and enjoyed the ride for a while. Hannah got her blanket out proceeded to open it when this explosion of confetti hearts flew out covering 1st class, She was so embarrassed and me and her started laughing hysterically, obviously hannahs mum had packed her a little surprise! We just asumed the woman at check in had taken kindly on us and upgraded us for free as it was basically empty! After about 1 hour a man came up to us to ask what meal we wanted (I secretly think he thought we looked too shabby for 1st class), he checked our tickets and looked a little confused...he mentioned something about us paying at Stansted for an upgrade, we just kind of went along with it. He must have grassed us up as a woman came over and promptly told us to MOVE! We told her that the airhostess had told us to sit here but she must have mistake our ticket for 4 not 41 which was economy! She told us there was no option to upgrade in the air it had to be done before hand. So up we got fleecey blankets in hand doing the walk of shame to economy. It just so happened our seats were right at the back of the plane so we had to walk past everyones sniggering faces, the embarrassment!! We were in such a hurry and wanted to get to our proper seats as quickly as possible we left our hand luggage behind in 1st class, which some nice man later had to retrieve as we were too embarrassed! When we actually got to our seats there was a small man sprawled over them, so we had to ask him to move, he had probably wondered where the hell we had been for the first hour!
So we spent the rest of the journey like 2 sardines in a can trying to sleep inbetween this small child having snoring/snorting fits, and a drunken lady who kept demanding wine. We managed to get some sleep though because the 12 hours seemed to fly by. We landed at KL to the most humid heat ever. We were both in jeans and hoodys which we promptly removed! Some how in my super organised state I managed to forget to print off my ticket for the shuttle bus to the town, so I had to buy another one, which wasn't too bad because it's cheap as chips here! We found our hostel no problem and Louise was here to meet us, we've just been out for a nice meal and a wander, we're having an early night because we're shattered from the long emotional journey! Tomorrow we're going to do some exploring so I'll update you once we've seen a bit more of the city in daylight! Lots of love x x x x
