We went out for lunch and I had a lovely thai chicken salad. It was gorgeous and since I was in much need of "green" food, I wolfed it down. Jennifer & John had large open sarnies that put me in mind of the style we had in the Carnegie Deli in NY - very large.Went to John's driving range after lunch and he sneaked me in for free. You need to be a member of this range and then don't pay per basket of balls. It was full and the mats are out in the open and arranged in this massive semi-circle around a lovely landscaped area, complete with pond and sand bunkers. I have to say that I did quite well hitting the balls and was very pleased with my efforts. Most went in the same direction and around the same distance, even though I was using his older clubs. Then at 4pm, all golfers have to stop whilst the "workers" go out with their little buggies and what look to be lawn-mowers and they spend 20mins collecting up the balls. A truely unreal experience. Whilst we were waiting, the ominous clouds that had been promising rain actually delivered. We made it to the car just in time before a very heavy downpour ensued. The windscreen wipers were on double time and were still not coping particularly well. Within minutes the roads were mini streams - no wonder the roads are so bad with that type of rain pelting down and shifting the earth.Tonight we went for a lovely curry - lamb bhuna - yum-yum!! Its 9.30pm and I'm about to turn out the light.
