Hello,
We arrived in Aurangabad on Monday night after a 7 hour train journey from Mumbai. We were pleased to leave the chaotic city! We came here because of the incredible caves nearby. Today we visited Ellora, where the caves are about 1,500 years old. We were brave enough to catch the local bus there which took about 45 minutes and cost about 50p! It wasn't as bad as we imagined in the end, although the roads leave something to be desired! The caves were amazing. It was incredibly hot, but we took plenty of photographs which we will upload soon. Tomorrow we are going to Ajanta, where the caves are over 2,000 years old. As the caves are about 2 hours away, we are still debating about whether to get a local bus there or to opt for the more expensive tour busses...
On friday we are leaving Aurangabad and heading north-west to Vadodara on an overnight bus (14hrs!), but we have resevered two beds on board so hopefully it will be more comfortable than the train!
We have found it much nicer in a more rural area. Although we use the term "rural" in the loosest possible sense (there is so much polution here, we can feel it when we breath!)
Hopefully we will write on here again soon!

Mum Sounds quite an experience-but worth it! I'd opt for the tour bus-2 hours on the local bus might be a bit cramped!! look forward to the photos--- Love to you both x
Mum2 Hope you feel better soon Olivia lol from everyone xxx
Dad remember to take photos of the esoteric things as well - ie tin baths and hose pipes too - these are the things that will keep you laughing for years. Lots of love to you both
