We hadn't planned on visiting Sao Paulo, but we were unable connecting bus and ferry to the island we were heading to. We didn't do or see an awful lot. It's Brazil's largest city and we were surrounded by city buildings. Across the road from the bus station, we found a reasonably priced hotel for the night.
I dragged Si round a nearby shopping centre to grab some havainas to replace my broken ones. (The cheapest place is apparently in Rio, so I'll wait to buy more there). It was havaiana heaven! In the UK they are around twenty pounds, but plain ones could be found here for three quid! Bargain! They are the comfiest flipflops and last much longer than others!! I'm currently debating how many I can get back into the UK! We spotted a takeout shop selling pizza cones. They were cones of bread filled with mozzarella, tomato and whatever toppings. Yum! Our friend had messaged us with a few tips but it meant spending money, so we decided against seeing the sights. There isn't an awful lot to see in Sao Paulo, and its just another city.
Whilst in the shopping centre, Si spotted a cinema ticket booth. His eyes lit up as he spotted Harry Potter posters. Apparently it was being shown in English - although translation wasn't too clear. We spent the evening with Harry, Ron and Hermione. Fun times!
We arrive home seventeen days today! Getting excited now! Just hope the snow doesn't get much worse. See you all soon :)
