I love Melbourne. It is a massive city especially compared to what we've been used to in New Zealand. I've been staying with my friend Penny and her brother Anrew, both of whom are vry lovely and have been showing mesomeof the sights around. We've been fairly lazy in terms of sightseeing so much so that we haven't managed to do the neighbours tour... disaster! Still, Nat managed to go to the neighbours night and met a few of the stars. They have public barbies here (very cool) and so on Saturday I did a traditional Aussie thing and had a barbie by the Yarra (the big river you can see in the picture). There are many suburbs here that all have a very good cafe and bar culture so I've been exploring a couple of them - it's such a big part of life here from what I can gather. The weather is better here than in NZ but is quite cold at night. We're heading up to Sydney though tonight and its better weather there I've been told (it's still better than the English summer here though). I'm incredibly sad to be leaving, Melbourne is an awesome place.
