Vicky and Natalie's Adventures
My parents, Nat and I left Sydney and headed up by car towards Brisbane. We spent time on Palm beach again before driving up to Port MacQuarie, which had been highly recommended to us by one of the only decent taxi drivers in Sydney. We stayed in a motel - a first for all 4 of us I think. It was a nice place with a lot to do as long as you did it before 8pm - even the restaurants and kebab shops shut really early! We visited a Koala sanctuary - unsuprisingly we saw lots of koalas and got to feed kangaroos too, amongst other animals. I made it of upmost importance to get a picture of the Big Banana as we passed through Coffs Harbour and we happened on a big prawn as well so I was very happy! We spent a day in Byron Bay, again meeting up with Bernie before heading up to Brisbane. The beach in Byron was fantastic and the sea was lovely and warm... we all made good progress on our tans! Brisbane is quite nice though seemingly just like a big city. We spent a lot of time in Southbank - a very cool part of town where there was a big Sunday market and nice restaurants and a man made beach - very odd in the middle of a town! We cruised up the river, trying to taste a bit more of the place. We had to say goodbye to my folks as they were off up to Cainrs but it was excellent spending time with them. It made Nat and I both realise how soon we'll be home... very distressing - we don't want to come back to the real world, though it will be nice to say hello to you all again!
