Not a lot to report today. Last night we walked several blocks to a quaint little bistro called La Bella. We shared an antipasto dish for 2. After we finished, we were approached by a fellow with a broad Scottish accent (originally from just south of Edinburgh) who invited us to join in a trivia quiz. His accent was still strong after living in SA for over 20 years. There were 26 questions and the only ones we could not answer were the rugby and cricket questions. I think we came in about 4th! There were 3 guys sitting beside us, one from the states (an academic), an Irishman and a South African. We had a bit of a rivalry with them and we beat them! We walked back to the B&B at about 9:45pm. After leaving our B&B the next morning, we had 3 hours to kill before dropping the car off at the rental agency at King Shaka airport, so we wandered around South Africa's equivalent of West Edmonton Mall. Wow, what a luxurious shopping centre! I did my usual watch shopping. It's kind of neat to look at watches that cost more than your average car. When it was time, we drove to the airport and after getting lost, we finally found where we were to drop the car. I spent considerable time talking to the representative who seemed incapable of believing that someone from the car rental agency had told me I would be reimbursed for the tire even though I had paid for the insurance. I was finally told that yes they would reimburse me but first had to check that the tire was of similar quality to the tire I had replaced. We then went through security and flew to Jo'berg. We are staying at an airport hotel so we are close to where we will depart. Tomorrow, we say goodbye to South Africa and fly on to our next adventure in Hong Kong.
