Hi everyone,
Yesterday we got the bus down to Circular Quay so we could have a wander around and get our bearings. It was great to see Sydney Harbour bridge and the Opera House for the first time. It really made us feel like we'd arrived in Australia. We had a pretty easy day as we've still been recovering from the flight down from Bangkok.
Today though we have been much more active, when we did the Sydney Harbour Bridge climb! We started the day with a picnic in the Royal Botanic Gardens overlooking Sydney Harbour and the Opera House. From here we walked around the quay and the Rocks - an area renowned for its colourful past. Our bridge walk was starting at half three in the afternoon, where we first had to sign the health and safety form and pass a breath test. After being kitted out in special gear, we headed out onto the bridge. After climbing some steep ladders and lots of steps we reached the summit. The view of the harbour was awesome! It was a great experience and we're really glad we did it.
Tomorrow we are planning to go to the Blue Mountains where we'll spend some time exploring the National Park. We'll then upload the pictures of our time in Sydney so far.
