Getting there we left the uk 9am with our backpacks, mine weighing in at 14kgs and petes 20kgs! on virgin flight vs015. we arrived in florida 4:30pm (their time) the weather was great nice and sunny, but quite humid.
first things first we had to get ourselves some wheels. florida is a massive place and nothing is close together. we went to enterprise and dave sorted us out with a PT cruiser in silver, cost us $312 for seven days. petrol is super cheap out here, paying 25p a litre!!
Universial Studios with the car we went off in search of universal studios, we got a bit lost and didn't find the place till 11am! we went to islands of adventure part of the park first. pete was in a grumps cos i made him come on the water ride wiv me and he got soaked, plus it started raining. all the rides were awesum - jurasic park, dualling dragems and the hulk. we left a bit early cos i wasn't feeling to good, which properly had something to do wiv jetlag and then goin on the hulk ride.
went back to universal studios but to the original part of the park. we were really lucky as it wasn't a busy a day, so we hardly qued for anything. all the rides are brill we went on jaws, twister, spiderman, the place is great i met a few celebrities like shrek, princess and donkey and spongebob. oh and the blues brothers.
Disney world got ourselves a 5 day pass for disney world, which included the water parks. i was soo excited i've always wanted to come here, and the place didn't dissapoint. we couldn't get over how big it is. the place has got its own motorway! disney world has 4 parks amd 2 waterparks. i've never seen such a huge carpark till i got to disney. the rides are amazing everything is for the kids and the place is spotlessly clean. the disney parade was awesum, how cool would it be to have the job of being a disney character.
waterparks are out of this world, there are two - typhoon lagoon which has a pool with a 7 foot wave every 5mins! and blizzard beach which has a slide called summit plumit - which is a 120ft vertical drop. which is the scariest thing i have ever been on. That slide hurt my thighs and bum, when you get to the bottom it tells you your speed, i missed mine cos i was busy correcting my self but petes read 60km!
the food out in america is mad, there are loads of buffet places. we went in this one called Sizzler and ordered a steak for $9.99 which came with a buffet. the buffet was no harvester buffet, we turned the corner and there were salads, and potatoes, chicken wings, shrimp, curry, rice, spag bol, mash potatoe, gravey. then fruits and cakes and ice cream. now i've already been told that "all you can eat" is not an order, but i cant help my self. before my steak came out i was stuffed. we ate so much that pete thought he was gonna throw up at the table! good food thou.
another buffet which was good was ci ci's, as soon as you walk through the door they shout at you "welcome to ci ci's" even if they were talking to someone else. this was a pizza place all you could eat for $5.50 thats about 3 pound. all salad, pasta and pizza. i think i managed about 10 slices, we couldn't move for about an hr afterwards. but all the drinks were free refils and they had loads of tvs in there so we spent most the nite there.
we were absolutly shattered in florida, after all the theme parks and the buffets. i couldn't imagine coming here for a holiday, i already need a holiday to get over it! oh another thing theres loads of out here is crazy golf courses they're everywhere. at the moment me an pete are drawing we've won one game each!
